
Meet Pamela
Pamela M. Yates, Ph.D., R. Psych is a Registered Forensic Psychologist with the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology (NSBEP), having received her Doctorate in
Psychology in 1996.
She has more than 25 years’ experience in assessment, treatment, research, and program development. She has published extensively and delivers presentations and training sessions across Canada and around the world.
Dr. Yates is an active member of numerous professional organizations and a long-time volunteer in her professional and personal communities. She is a recipient of numerous awards, such as the Significant Contribution Award from the Criminal Justice Section of the Canadian Psychological Association, the Nova Scotia Legislature Member Statement for Community Contribution, and the Commissioner’s Award for Professional Excellence for the Correctional Service of Canada.
Dr. Yates provides a range of services to adults (18+). She specializes in forensic psychological risk assessment services. She additionally specializes in working with men and women in conflict with the law, who have experienced victimization, and those who may be concerned with such matters, as well as prevention and workers’ compensation. Specific concerns include anger management, addictions, trauma and abuse, violence, sexual behaviour, and other emotional and behavioural concerns.
Dr. Yates takes an evidence-based, positive psychological approach and uses a range of therapeutic practices and methods. Services are tailored to the unique needs of each individual client.
